While designing events at Banyan Tree, we treat the performing arts as more than mere entertainment. Our events showcase an enchanting spectrum of performing arts from across India and the world. These include Indian Classical Music and Dance, Sufi and Mystic Music, Folk Music, Folk Dance Forms, Jazz and several others. We conceive and produce several national festivals featuring these genres, which have each become reputed brands over the years. We also design events for corporates and governments. We have established a resounding presence through these events in multiple Indian towns and cities, as well as abroad.

RUHANIYAT
SEEKING THE DIVINE
Ruhaniyat - Banyan Tree's flagship festival - is a unique presentation of mystic music that brings the works of Great Realised Masters alive, with the power of enchanting musical performances.

The festival features talents from remote corners of India who present rare art forms which give India's rich cultural heritage its core identity. Most of these forms are living traditions which have travelled down millennia, mostly orally passed down from generation to generation. Besides Indian art forms and artists, the festival also features international artists, representing traditional art forms and styles of music from their own countries.

Both Indian and International artists are also featured in specially curated international collaborative productions to create musical bridges of universal brotherhood and joy.

Ruhaniyat is among the most awaited events in India and it serves as a reminder of the basic oneness of all creation beyond all man-made divides-transporting audiences to another realm.... to a world of love, harmony, peace, calm, equilibrium, and unity.

Humrahi, the first-ever Ghazal festival of its kind, features the best exponents, and budding talent, of this form. The Ghazal, feted for being among the most romantic and exquisite styles of poetry, written in Urdu and Hindi, has a special place in the hearts of music lovers. While the Ghazal was a very popular genre through the '50s to the early '80s, it has been increasingly rare to be able to enjoy the luxurious languor of an evening of Ghazals over the past two decades. Humrahi makes it possible. Recent editions of Humrahi have also been designed as specialised tributes to the legendary Mehdi Hassan, a master of the Ghazal form.

Our uniquely devised concepts have found the perfect balance between the integration of a corporation's vision, and a reflection of the best of the performing arts that both the country and the world have to offer. This, coupled with a close association with the leading stage, sound, light vendors from across the country, enables us to present grand events which meet the needs of our corporate clients, and also perpetuate the promotion of the performing arts.

MILESTONE EVENTS
Some significant moments in our journey have cemented themselves as true milestones. We had the honour of presenting the legendary Sitar maestro Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar in Anant - his farewell concert tour in Mumbai. Banyan Tree was also involved in the inception and development of Kathak Darpan, a dedicated annual initiative which brought the training and expertise of Pt. Birju Maharaj to students of dance across India. -More recently, Banyan Tree was closely involved in the curation of the Sur Vasudha orchestra, as a part of 2023 Indian G20 Presidency. A total 41 international artists from each of the 29 countries participating at the Summit were invited to be a part of the Orchestra for a special programme for the G20 Culture Working Group in Varanasi. Banyan Tree has also been an active participant in international stages, having presented original programming concepts on reputed stages such as Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, the Amersfoort Jazz Festival in The Netherlands, among others.

Our journey remains one that is committed to the promotion of the performing arts – which often sees us involved in the curation of momentous celebrations that are attached to prominent figures from the cultural fraternity, as also to noteworthy events or movements within the cultural industry. With the necessary awareness, reverence and sensitivity required in the approach for such endeavours, we have garnered a reputation for designing remarkable events which deliver suitable justice to the cause. We have also played a meaningful role in bridging the gap between India and the world, through multi-faceted cultural exchanges and showcases.

GOVERNMENT FESTIVALS
In the realm of government events, we collaborate with various culture and tourism departments of both the state and central governments to conceptualise and execute festivals that celebrate the cultural heritage and attractions of different regions in India. From the Taramati Dance and Music Festival in Andhra Pradesh to the Sirpur National Dance & Music Festival in Chhattisgarh, our events showcase the richness and diversity of Indian culture on a global stage. One of our most notable achievements was organising the inaugural event of Dandi Kutir Museum in Gujarat, which was graced by the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. We were involved in the curation of the Sur-Vasudha G20 Orchestra, which was presented at culmination of the Culture Working Group meeting in Varanasi in August 2023.

We specialise in bringing governments’ cultural vision to life – bringing the rich heritage of our nation into the spotlight. Both with State Governments and the Central Government, our associations have led to the development and creation of unique events which shone with magnanimity, and a pluralistic showcase of the performing arts from India and even beyond. These endeavours have always been tailored to highlight the cultural wealth of our nation, successfully utilising important heritage monuments and sites as venues and locations to present these festivals.
